With 1/12th it's all about efficiency, especially in modified. Associated went to the stealth dif in an attempt to remove weight from the rotating mass as well as from the car. The stealth diff proved to be not as efficient because of the reduced diff ball count and there is no bearing for the spur gear to rotate on. The stealth diff had an inherent drag in the design. Once you feel and drive a car with glassy smooth diff you will wonder why they ever made the stealth diff. That's why Associated no longer offers the stealth diff. They learned better.
