well i hate to tell you this....
but there really is no helping you. you need to learn to do it your self. all we can tell you is bascially the same things your book would tell you... settings that work for one person wont work for another person... reasons why is every engine is different for the biggest one!! another is weather climate, altitude. everything affects these engines.... a couple examples from my personal experience
my 4tec's stock settings are HS-4 LS-1 3/4 I-1
but my maxx wont even start on those settings... my revo starts but barley runs... all three of these cars have the exact same engine. that right there tells you every engine is different.
now for the weather.... my nearest hobby shop is 90 miles away from me, in a big city, im more in a little town and a lower elevation... when the hobby shop tunes my truck it runs great... down there, when i come back home it wont run i have to retune it... just 90 miles make a huge difference.
only advice i can really give you is take it to your local hobby shop, ask them to help you, and soak up all the info you can, and learn to tune by ear, smoke, and temp. it will take you a lot of practice, prob took me a good year atleats to learn to tune my truck really well.
