Nice to hear from you. We did face motor overheat problem too because of the hot track temperature. We tried to use lighter motor spring to let the overheat problem comes later, but there came another problem that the motor was not punch or powerful enough to be competitive.
By the end, both Hiroshi Kambiyashi (1st) and Alan Yau (2nd) used IB3800s and standard 8T motors for race. We don't see any sign of dump during the 5 min. race.

actually is not dump for the cell is like the punch decrease about 20 to 25 percent until the end of the race it still have lot of juice on the cell. nvm we can meet on TITC race. i heard that the new batch of IB 3800 improve a lot and i plan to get some pack to try it. maybe my IB cell are old generation
