On a helicopter pitch is the angle of the blades that will create lift. A fixed pitch heli has blades that are fixed at a certain pitch. As the motor increases in rpm the lift will increase. Great for a first heli, less adjustments.
A collective pitch helicopters blades change pitch to create lift. Motor speed is usually constant and the pitch is changed to create lift. This is closer to how a real helicopter works. More things to think about and adjust. Hope this helps.
