Personally i haven't been a fan of gold rears for some time. Generally i run Silver rears with 19 turn, and either silver or Pink rears with mod.
Ultimately it really depends on the carpet and adative you are using. In the UK (and most of Europe) it's odourless adative, which does seem to make a difference. We used to run gold rears all the time before odourless adative.
