Roll Bars affect how the car rolls from side to side. With a softer bar the car will lean more putting more weight on the outside tire giving it more grip but the oppsite can be true if the track is high in grip then you don't want the car to roll as this would cause traction rolls. A harder bar may also help in the switchbacks as the car dosen't have to roll as far to provide grip to the outside tire.
