We race the johnson grey endbell in Aus...It is a competitive class(but you always get the one or two that try and cheat)but we use up to 3800 batteries and open tyres.Stock(27 turn fixed 24degree)is ultra competitive in Brisbane...15to 20 at a club meeting...the only down side to this is you have to use good gear ALL the time ,even club racing.
