Hi all!
Well, it's only been a few weeks and the MS2.3 has started taking the top awards at the local NW race tracks. I was able to top qualify and win the 6th annual Slugfest at Rain City in Lynnwood Washington in stock class. I was able to put an 8 second spread on local driver Steve Degarmo to snatch the pole and was able to put the race away in 2 in the triple A's. I lent the car to run the final A to Chris Perry who had qualified 4th. He immediately made up a spot and was leaning on Steve in the opening minute while getting used to the car. 3 minutes in, Chris made the pass for the lead and never looked back. Chris now owns a MS2.3... so does Steve.

Last weekend, I traveled to Spokane Washington for the 1st leg of a 6 race NW Series. I have never visited this track before. It was a little tighter then home, the lanes were a little more dangerous. But the car handled quite well with the Jaco Purple/Parma Pink tires. There was a club race scheduled for Fri night that I entered into stock class. There were two heats, I was definitely seated into the heat with lesser ability while local driver Chris Robertson was in the clean heat. Chris layed down the benchmark run, while I tried to avoid traffic. In the 2nd heat, I was able to just nudge Chris's run by a 10th of a second. When the mains came, I was tuned up for severe traffic, while Chris was not and was quickly swallowed by the pack. I went on to win the club race which was a triple A format. A close chase came from Bob Stormer, "the" Bob from Stormer Hobbies! As the weekend progressed, a mod class developed for series race. I was able to lay down the times to beat every round in a qual point senario, taking TQ. I changed tires to Jaco pink/double pink wraps. I should have read the boxes better as this proved to be a handful of tire to try to drive. Being stubborn, I tried to tune the car into the tires, when I should have given up and at least switched to purple fronts. The car never really did get settled in like I had hoped, but it got the job done. I was then able to take the first two A's and had the luxory to sit out the 3rd.

Just tonight, I was able to take two batteries back at the test track with my new LRP brushless system. I have to say, for a first time, I have no idea what I am doing with this system. I suspect that I am over geared, because I went 7:15 and it was hell fast! I tried the pink/double pink tires once again and found that it just was not a usable combo. I went to purple/pink and found it much more driveable, but still got edgy towards the end of the run. I will make some chassis changes and continue testing with this new form of power. It was fast. I will have to brush up (sorry) on brushless to see if I can "nail" the set up. So far, I have set the esc to #3 on the drag brake mode and have it set on "kill".

Feel free to clue me in.

Conversion kits are becoming more readily available, thrust kits are in stock, so are foam bumpers. T-shirsts need to be ordered and will require more time.
