Two tips, if you run on a high grip surface the amp draw can be very high. Some of the racers in my area found that they needed to put vents in the body over the speed control to keep from thermalling. Also the 5800 has a very bottom heavy throttle curve. I found that I could change this by turning my Exponential adjusment down to 60%. This makes the cruve feel more like a conventional setup. I recently changed to the GTB and it's even better.
I second that... My 5800 does get hot. I can make a five minute race no problem but I can't kick a battery pack without a cool down period. As stated it also depends on track layout/grip.
tnbndr: I would assume the GTB to fit easily in the xxx4 as the stock ss5800 esc is larger and I've got it intalled.
