For the last couple of years it has been up to $1000 including freight.

Import Entry Costs
A customs import entry must be lodged for goods above the value of $1000 per consignment.
Over $500 you may be ask to pay GST on the shipment. You must get the shipment per Mail ie post. If you get it any other way like Fedx etc you will end up having to pay all costs and charges
