okay, the motor has three wires for power. then also connected to the motor are a few small wires(about three wires similar in size to reciever or servo leads.) these small wires are sensor wires. the brushless motor uses sensors to determine rotor position. the sensor wires connect to the speed controller. as for the third main power wire, im not certain, but i do know 2 of the 3 wires can be reversed to reverse motor direction. there are brushless motors that do not have sensor wires, like the HACKER motors, but from what i understand, a sensor based brushless motor offers smoother low speed control. all this talk of brushless motors really makes me wish i could run my car...period!
