it'd tame more than a few thou off, dont use brake kleener as it could cause problems to belts and other items, just use oven cleener, also "simple green." is available in aust most hard ware stores stock it or can get it but i havent heard of it striping any thing before.

another couple of questions;

has anyone tried brake fluid to remove anondising??? we all know it eats through paint like no tomorrow, but has any one had any experience with it and anondising?

also, im assuming sand blasting the aluminium to remove it will take a few thou off right???, so in this instance i would need to pulg all bearing holes and screw holes etc to stop them from being abrased and ruining the fit...???

will this still happen if i used chemicals to remove the anondising???

your help would be GREATLY appreciated, as i dont want to ruin this- hence i havent started yet

thank you

cheers
