I tryed it that way,but its was hard to keep it tuned with just a 2needle carb i hve a couple buddies run the same engine just as recommended,my engine was faster then there,s. we ran same car, v1rrr same gears they ran the pipecombo i ran cvec,new header an pipecombo my car was faster for some reason.the maxx engine is the meanest engine ive ran so far, so thumbs up to the maker of this eng.i hve race car running a 5port maxx engine was destroying the 5port do the straightaway.
