You have got it almost right.
Hudy is a firm of engineers. Serpent and Corally, both Dutch, often used Hudy Engineering to manufacture certain parts for their cars. It's the sort of thing that goes on everywhere, but they are totally independent companys.
Corally and Serpent also make parts for each other, and yes you are correct in saying that they have come to an agreement whereby one manufactures IC and the other electric. And they are both gentlemen enough to respect that agreement.
Among other things Serpent produce shocks and suspension arms for Corally. Corally in turn produces wheels and other items for Serpent. It is a good arrangement and it works.
What Corally didn't expect was Hudy, who they were giving plenty of business to, to make a car - the X ray, and that that car should be a perfect X Ray replica of the Corally C4.
Yes you are quite right. I would feel the same way about keeping a new car under wraps, as Corally are feeling at the moment. And who can blame them!
