regarding gearing,
I run a sphere and LRP VECTOR motor (similar to the NEO1) around 3 teeth lower than a 10 turn. this should be a good starting point at least. (2WD and 4WD buggy)
in the VECTOR manual there was a recomended gear ratio for different applicationsl, I am sure the NEO1 would have the same or similar details, use these as a guide
