I guess you do hard wiring or use banana plug connector on that battery,
yes you might got trouble with that hardware..
the risk become worse as you seldom charge baattery, then may occurs kind of "mind glitching" which terminal is (+) which is (-)..
I dunno how to recover your batt.. sorry..
I just suggest use deans plug or at least tamiya connector (as tc3blue comment..) on the rest of your undamaged pack..
