serpent does not dominate the market anymore in 1/8th scale, if they priced 960 too high the people would prefer to stick with MRX4 or Evolva. Serpent is trying to maintain the cost very close to Mugen and Kyosho so they can recover the market share which they are loosing now. I observe that they sell the car in a very competative price but they keep developing tones of expensive hops up to denting your wallet.
