IMO I feel that the sanyo HVs might be the better battery being that they cost less (at least orions do) and they seem to be alot more durable. If you, however, are more careful than the average joe like me with your batteries, then the ultra metals could be better (I've personally never tried the UMH's, I've only been told how they perform by other users at my track)
