the fins on the side of the heatsink do nothing for the motor cooling...for one they are the wrong way around (fins should go length ways so the air can flow through them)

and cutting them off, allows more air flow around the motor and it actually aids cooling more than the heatsinks (i have a motor mount the same as gaz's..and gaz actually did it for me) and i have noticed a decrease in motor temperature
