Actually I have started dead shorting my IB 3800's and it looks like they actually do like it. I'll try and post some number comparisons between similar packs dead-shorted and non-deadshorted....

As far as cells exploding... yes I'm sure they can if they are overcharged just like the GP's do as well...

So far I'm seeing that the 3800's like either a .03 delta peak on most chargers... some like a .04 on others. Right between 120 and 130 deg. F with a temp cutoff works well too. The biggest problem with a new cells is people assume they can charge it the same as brand X cell when the chemicals inside aren't the same.
