the DX6 can discharge 1W higher than the DX8 per channel, but when bridged, the DX8 can discharge at 70W vs the 60W on the DX6

To the OP it really depends on your needs. The DX6/8 is good for travel, its light weight and small and can charge at high rates, but if discharging is your main concern then you either have to research for external resistor dischargers, or regenerative discharge.

If you dont want to have an external discharger but still want higher discharge rates then 456/458 is your next best bet as it has a 80W internal discharger, but its heavier and larger and more expensive.

Third option, you can just get the DX6 and buy an external stand alone discharger like the Skyrc BD250 which can do 35A discharge but does not have any control or logic to discharge to storage voltages. It only discharges to a set voltage so you either guess the ending voltage and hope it bounces back right near storage voltages, or you will have to charge it back to storage voltage afterwards.
