I got the CRC SHO 7500 150C and EAM Graph-X 7500 130C batteries this week. Did 4 easy “break in” cycles of 1C charge and 2C discharge on them before running them. Compared to the Protek… holy cow! I feel a bit more punch earlier in the run but the end of the run is where they really made a difference(as expected). I think either one is an excellent choice.
The CRC battery is definitely the better of the two. It has noticeably more punch out of corners and seemed to remain most powerful of the three at the 8 minute mark. After a few cycles, IR on my Toolkitrc charger was reading 0.4-0.6 ohm. At the end of 8 minutes, I wasn’t having to push the car to 10/10ths to keep my lap times consistent. The EAM battery was roughly the same effect, just not as magnified. IR was reading 0.9-1.1 ohm and, compared to the CRC, I definitely had to push the car harder at the end of a session to keep lap times low. This is not unexpected as the C rating is lower and IR was higher. I did try charging at 30A to help with that and IR did drop to 0.8, FWIW.
One thing of note: the quality of the case fitment on the EAM was a bit better. Not enough to justify the extra $$$ though. The CRC is killer for the money, I’ll also be curious to see how these are both doing in a month or two.
All of this to say battery expected to do better did do better.
