Without starting a new thread, here is what I have done to my minipro. Many of us have identified the inconsistency with the belt drive system so it was great to see the version 2 has moved to the gear drive system. However as the Australian dollar has tanked against the USD, the upgrade kit is too expensive for me.
So here is what I have done. I fixed a spur onto the pulley by tapping 4 m3 threads. The ID of the spur is 8.5mm and I enlarged it to 10mm so that the spur can locate on the flywheel shaft to maintain the concentricity. I have a larger pulley (40t from memory) so the threads stay well within the material of the pulley. If you have a standard pulley (32t) the threads will be very close to the edge of the pulley. Once I have fixed the spur I moved the motor upwards so the motor shaft is closer to the centre of the flywheel. I used a 20x40x2mm aluminium extrusion with the standard mounting location. I ended up using a 42t pinion and 84t spur (48p) to maintain the 1:2 ratio. I can report that it works well.
Now does anyone know if there is a newer
version of the windows software from Minipro for the v3 board? The one from their website is from 2023 and I have seen some bugs with it (eg the power graph).
