Traxxas does make a $60 US charger that will charge much faster than the USB charger, which is an option too. But yea, if I were replacing the ESC, I'd do 10BL60 or 120 if I could get it to fit, just so I have some overhead to keep things cool. If the motor spins the wrong way, just swap two wires. That's about the only difficulty. The HW is an excellent ESC and HW is my general choice most of the time anywhere from my basic cars to race rigs. Have you seen the new Gens Ace smart packs? They are also being sold under the Amain brand as well. Very similar to the Spektrum, but the balance chip is in the balance wire. I'm testing some 4s packs to see how they compare to my Spektrum packs, and so far I like what I see. Only downside is that you don't get the Telemetry data on your transmitter if you go full Spektrum.
