The SkyRC design is ideal for nitro engines. The stereotypical gun isn't, unless you mod the housing so it looks like the SkyRC.
Knowledge and calibration is required.
I had a simple affordable 32x32 pix heatcam and must say that regardless the low resolution you can detect enough.View weeks ago I was looking arround and found a decent heatcam in a good electronics shop, it is called an Infiray C200+ with a resolution of 256x192. Also at this moment the R2105 (V2) are dumped for a good price so I bought 2 of them, then I can do some tests. I have 2 type of tests planned on several heads to find out some differences.
