Caps imho are even more of use in 4 cell than 6.
They only have to charge up to 4.8 volts, not 7.2 volts, so they charge faster.
But the best reason for using caps. They act as a damper for the cells, dampening out the extremes in current and voltage, thereby reducing the load on the cells which should help them last longer.
