I think the ongoing urge to go faster or create a sale boost. Nova claims that a larger displacement will make the engine easier to tune. To be honest I do not see such tuning issues around me, funny thing though is that there are plenty of complains about the carburettor which is also used on REDS engines. As mentioned Novarossi had a same idea when they were on the edge of bankruptcy, If you have such a production line and some stock when the proposal gets voted for then you will sell them first.
Of course it will be an interesting engine to try but with plenty .23 and larger offroad engines out there this is the the 1st one that does not need huge modifications to go fast with an onroad, it will be actually a direct drop in. And that is why it is a bad idea to put this on the market making it easy to cheat.
