We like the Tamiya HD saver . It is affordable and quite strong. Our servo of choice is the Sanwa SXR. The Protek is so close to the same profile and size, but it is just different enough to not fit in the pre-drilled Sanwa holes.


For a setup on black carpet with good grip;


.50mm spring, F+R

front .402 king ping length -(bottom of e-clip groove to base of steering block)

3279 - 2.5 mm spacer under upper arm mount

1 shim in front, 2 in back

.25 degree camber

outer hole for tie rod on steering block - (inner hole for tight tracks)

Purple or stiffer center spring

1mm pod droop (pod below chassis plane when hanging in the air)

rear preload is set to pod/chassis in line when car is sitting race ready.

Side springs slightly preloaded

50K in tubes (varies depending on layout)

2.5mm under pivot


3.5 front to 4 mm rear ride
