It is a true RTR: http://www.happytimehobby.com/cars/xr80/index.html

RTR is designed to be the fastest, best-handling ready-to-run car of any scale. Borrowing technology from its brother, the XR/8, it doesn't skimp on features. Only a few parts are changed to make the car more affordable for the parking lot racer in all of us. The engine is started via a Quick-start shaft attached to either a cordless drill or one of our own Power Starters...no pull-start to break or gears to strip! If you want to go racing, all parts are fully upgradeable to XR/8 specifications.

XR/80 RTR Features:

Machined 6061 Aluminum Chassis
PRP .27 Engine (2.7hp, 40000rpm)
Quick-start shaft drive starter system
2ch AM 75mhz Hitec Aggressor radio system
Anodized Aluminum radio tray and shock towers
3-shoe clutch with lightened flywheel
Shoe-type 2-speed transmission
Hardened Quick-change axles
125cc fuel tank w/internal filter and splashguard
Unique wheel design (Serpent compatible)
Threaded aluminum shocks
Pre-cut, pre-painted GT1 body (Blue or Red)

It's still a better idea than a used car that's been through who knows what...
