Default Sanwa M17 setup for 2WD Buggy

Hello -

New to the sport, building a buggy (B6.4D) to race and I have some questions on how to best setup my transmitter. Logically, it makes sense to use Point and start at (lets say, 15%), so that 1% of my throttle pull puts me at 15%, which leaves 99% of my remaining throttle pull open to a curve. But I'm also looking at Speed/Forward, which will smooth out full pulls (for long straights, for example). Seems like the curve settings along side the speed/forward settings may fight each other, with me being the loser lol. I also seem to find more drag race guys using Point, and thats where it may be more appreciated. Does this make sense? I hope i've explained everything correctly here. Does anyone use Point and/or Speed/Forward and if so, can you talk to me about how they co-exist. Oh, it also seems like (looking at the TX screen) that if i'm slow on the throttle, the point value isn't honored. Only when I quickly go from 0 to 100 do i see it jump and then slowly climb up (based on my forward rate).

Thanks,
