Well I FINALLY got my EasyLap timing system set up! Now that it's setup I really like it and it hasn't missed a lap since I hard wired the transponder to the battery terminals. I tried using the port and turning channel 4 dial all the way up, but the led on the transponder seemed dimmed and it would register low strength passes in Zround. After hardwiring it no problems and 100% lap pickup! Not having to worry about if the camera app counter would miss my lap allowed me to concentrate on driving and I turned my fastest lap on this layout at 4.003 and I turned 65 laps in the 5 minute practice session with an average lap of 4.469, and I only had to use reverse twice! SO that part is GREAT, BUT getting there using the Zround software was a CHALLENGE! Thank God for the guy who posted the YouTube video on how to register drivers, because none of the instructions they provide either in the "read me" files to their old computer voiced YouTube videos would allow me to register. So after a frustrating few hours spent trying their way I found a guy who figured it out and posted it! I'm not for sure if I can post his screen name here, but it is found under "easylap timming setup" on YouTube.
I am also wondering how long do your AAA batteries last before you start to notice they wont "hold their charge" and start to dump with fewer and fewer laps? My wording is probably incorrect, but I have 2 sets of 4 AAA nimh PN900s I have been using for about 10 months, and they used to power the car for almost 15 minutes before you could feel the car starting to loose power to where your giving it more throttle to run the same times. Now after 20 or so warm up laps, I get half way through a 75 lap run and the throttle is super spongy and the steering slows. I usually drive every other day, and I charge after each use with a SkyRC NC1500 charger at 500mah.
So is this a normal amount of time to expect with nimh AAAs? I'm used to running the subC packs from 30 years ago and their lifespan and how they behave, so the AAAs are new to me.
Thanks for Any and All Help! I'd be lost without Yalls Help!
