same like soldering female tube, you just position with a small degree so it wouldn't stand completely vertical.
anyway, i don't like the hassle, so i solder 2 females to the battery and mark +- with a marker on the top of the battery.
missed polarity only once
novak's ss5800 esc and battery got hot in a few secs, reconnected and that's it
