25.5 2s is going to be as fast as 1-cell 13.5, maybe a tick faster. Switch 1/12th scale to 2s and you'll quickly have a group of racers demanding 30.5-turn or 35.5-turn motors because 2-cell 25.5 is too fast. You'll wind up trading off a $125 1s-specific ESC for a $150 motor that you won't be able to use in any other class.
A 25.5 on 2s is nowhere near the power of a 13.5 on 1s!

Per the math, which I have done along with real on track comparisons, a 25.5 on 2s is about 1-2 tenths quicker than a 17.5 on 1s. If the 25.5 was a fixed timed motor then there almost dead even. I get that people hate the idea of change, but let's at least keep the facts straight!

You've proudly told us for years how you're GT12 class has been a boom for racing in Florida, which is great! However, I bet when the class was proposed there were haters saying what you were doing was dumb and would never catch on. So, what is wrong with another group doing the same thing, in trying to develop a class to grow their racing program? Also, do people like yourself really need to throw out hate towards anyone who wants to try something different? We don't all like the same flavor of ice cream, so why would we all like the same flavor of 1/12th pan car racing?

Now to get serious for a second. If all the organization got together and decided to make 1/12th be 2s in say 3 years, then it would have minimal impact on anyone currently racing. Most of us replace batteries and motors more often than that anyway, and we'd likely be wanting to replace an ESC too! So the argument of needing all new equipment doesn't really hold up, as we're going to replace it all anyway!
