im my experience, despite the motors having some slight differences here and there ( 200-300 rpm and maybe .2-.3 amps ), they have ran the same on the race track. its an amazing motor for spec style races. i have seen some dirt oval and some off road classes utilize it. compaired to pen 21.5 motors however, it is lacking power. so if you run it against other open 21.5s u will be down on power, and will need to run a lot more gear then they will.

The USGT motor is PERFECT for all spec classes where everyone runs the same motor. There isnt a wide variance from motor to motor. I liked the motor when we ran it here locally. It didn’t last as racers kept complaining that it’s not as fast as my XYZ motor…..blah, blah, blah. Racing was fun and bit closer for some.
Thanks for the info. For the oval versus standard USGT motor, any opinion on what would be better for 2wd buggy or is one faster than the other (assuming oval is)?
