Ill have to disagree with you there. Please read Tamiyas Spec Novice rules. It allows for any Tamiya hop up for TT02. They are accessible to all and None of which will give anyone a great advantage.

My 8 year old has raced Spec Novice for 4 years with TT02-S that is TCS legal. It’s hopped up for durability. It didn’t give him any superior advantage until he turned 7, when his driving skills really kicked in and he placed first in April.

The TT hop ups are mostly bling, makes it fun.

The rules your talking about are the TCS GT Pro Spec class is actually not a Novice class. It’s dominated by experience drivers battling it out for that extra 0.1 second.

Attend the next TCS race and enter Pro Spec and see how you do.. it’s tough. I raced it last April and battled for 3rd and eventually succumbed and placed 4th
