Most (racing) bodies are very close to each other in pricing. Tamiya bodies are usually (quite a bit) more expensive, but they're also more detailed and much more true to scale, but not optimized for racing.

Many different (often regional) race series with their own rulesets. Often it's fixed timing 17.5T spec motors (on blinky ESCs), spec tires (not the USGT ones) and fixed max. gearing with GT bodies on top.
