As the car rolls up on the glued area, it reduces traction, and prevents it from rolling over.
At one race the grip got very high, to where you didn't have to lift in the sweeper, and to test the glue I drove it into the corner and just twitched the steering wheel to the lock. I could see my car lift the inside tires about a half-inch off the ground... then settle. You know its working when you can't traction roll the car on purpose.
