So don't use the "factory settings". Factory settings only exist as a starting point that
should probably get the engine to
start running, but they are by no means guaranteed to make the engine run
properly. Except, of course, for that one guy who insists the factory settings have always worked perfectly for him and he's never needed to touch the carburetor -- there's one guy like that in every conversation about carb tuning.
