So I picked up a Lexan shell from TBG and slapped it on the HPI Savage XS and the thing was a blast to drive as its on 3S brushless power. The whole truck ran me $250 minus radio and battery.

It was is definitely flimsy. It is more of a shelf queen than a basher. The shocks are a bolt with springs and there is a massive amount of play in all the joints, including the steering. The gear box might be the worst design ever. However, it is a very cool looking truck and a piece of history. Some might even say it was the beginning of the RC monster trucks.
