A pack of 5x10x4 bearings would be wise as that size bearing is common throughout both vehicles. Screws of all lengths, ball studs, hinge pins, nuts, and washers are all good things to keep on hand.
Getting used cars you can go through them and replace the worn parts with new stuff. Then keep the old stuff as spares (as long as the old parts are still useful). You are probably going to have to replace some stuff. The truck stresses ball cups more than the buggy, but fresh ball cups will likely be good for both cars. You might want to look to convert the both cars to Elite rear ends if the 5.0 parts on the truck are Elite parts.
