I would go with a well known platform, tons of aftermarket support for the DR10, Traxxas based and the 6.1/6.2 . Also support for Losi cars, and they also just announced a drag specific RTR.
Just need to decide if you want a mid motor or rear motor. Rear motor i think is easier to setup and has a larger setup window. I've ran my fastest passes with my mid motor (6.1 based) car. It took a lot longer to figure out what works though.
