Great info bill, good to know. First time I've heard about the "trade-up" program, thanks. My local hobby shop stocks both Hobbywing and Castle combos I mentioned. Whichever ESC and motor I go with will be going in either my Schumacher CAT XLS or one of my Futaba FXT stadium trucks. I just hope it won't be too much power for either transmission using 2s Lipo or 7-cell NiMH batteries (not planning on installing the Schumacher Pro transmission in the CAT). I'm opting for the higher 4000kV motor in lieu of the 3300kV due to the 4000kV having less initial full throttle torque. If that theory make sense? Because I recently watched a video of both of those Hobbywing motors dyno tested. The less torque 4000kv motor would be less stressful on the trans even though having higher rpm, is what I'm thinking.
