When truing tires, cutting a 45 degree straight chamfer bevel into the rear tire may help reduce the cone-shape wear. It also seemed to give a better driving feel than a rounded edge, as it makes it harder for the car to "roll up" on the edge, which can cause lifting of the inside rear or even traction roll.
