If your wheel is worn more then likely it can be flipped (most starter box wheels can do this) and that would give you something to work with if your wheel has a worn groove. In my opinion unless you can get lowered mounts this may be a situation where you need to go shopping for a box that can do the job. On my Losi 8 4.0 I had some lowered mounts but they were forsure custom that I got from a friend and didn’t work with my Losi box. If you have some rtr mounts then your fine just get some kit mounts or aftermarket. Aftermarket may offer a lower set up but I would assume they follow a standard. Hopefully.
i have an old Kyosho buggy, it’s the Kyosho inferno mp5. My mounts really can’t go lower without my engine hitting the chassis. I have this old Duratrax starter box with those huge 100mm wheel on it. I was looking at how the modern boxes have 50mm wheels on it which is why they work so well. I think I’m gonna widen the chassis opening because a new starter box is just too expensive
