Yes after more research those do seems to be quite bad for what I want. I'm going to go to a local event this Sunday and then probably buy a kit and slowly assemble it.

Sounds good. I just started with clay in June. I’ve done few carpet off road races. I also race carpet/pavement on road and 1/27 scale. Clay has been the hardest to adjust to so far.
I have the Baja Rey, it’s a cool truck. It would be great to actually see a solid axle style class. But there’s no real interest in it
