Many brands of Tx's are not able to use AA-NiMh because the voltage is too low and performance will suffer with excessive glitching,etc... I have had success with using AA-LiPo with AA-Dummy cells to get the voltage right, just need to verify the max voltage allowed for your Tx and use the appropriate cells to get the best possible performance:
