Kent - Thank you so much for your reply, and suggestion. I didn't mention it, but yes I did try with the ESC only as well as with the motor and servo connected as well. It was the same problem both ways. I don't have the ability (or the adapter at this time) to bypass the ESC completely, and go straight from a battery to the SR3100 receiver. I only have lipo batteries. Not sure if I can do that without using a nicad.
The original 3 of them that were working before were all legit Spektrum brand units I paid $99 each for years ago.
I know they are discontinued now. I got it on Amazon. Its probably a knock off but it should be DSM2 and compatible. I see now there are no reviews at all, so maybe that's bad. The one I just picked up was $36 dollars. It won't let me post the direct Amazon URL on here, but if you search "WILLOWLUCKY Spektrum SR3100 DSM2" you'll find it.
