I have often wondered if LIFE batteries might be better for the hobby, but that;s a topic for another time. I would like to know the best way to store and maintain LIPO or LIHV batteries. Our track recently lost it's lease and until something new opens up, my LIPOs are in need of non racing TLC. So what do you do to preserve LIPOs over a period of inactivity?

I keep my LiPo batteries in a bag in the fridge. I have a few that have been in there for a few years without puffing or apparently going bad. I don't have a good way of measuring IR besides a discharge test with my CE Turbo 35 and checking the voltage output at 35 amps of draw, but they seem in-line with what they had before, once they warm up.
