What is FDR? What size spur gear and pinion should I be running? I know it varies track to track, but what is a good starting point?






OK, so a ballpark FDR for a 17.5 would be around 5.0, track and timing dependent. I'd start there and check motor temp after 3 minutes and go from there. Sometimes used gears just get loud especially if they are worn to any extent. I'm hoping your using the same pitch gears unless your using a Tamiya gear which has a slightly different pitch then the normal gears.[/QUOTE]
