it really depends;
if you want the more realistic side pods, the pros are more coke bottle aero dynamics, good looks.
the cons are that its more weight (due to screws/tape and overlapping plastic, and limits your interior layout for electronics/battery.
Typically used in asphalt inline layout
but with no side pods aka stock wider ones,
pros are less weight, better suited for carpet where you need the transverse battery and more room for electronics.
Cons are you get more drag and most importantly, less realistic.
all in all, I have typically suited tamiya bodies to the track i’m running. It makes a small difference, but I would only run a tamiya body if it were for TCS as they are usually 10-15 grams heavier than most F1 bodies
Tamiyas are like 35-55g
Others are typically like 25-35g
the biggest difference is usually how the helmet is applied, tamiya ones are usually pretty heavy compared to others like say protoform
